Help & FAQ

Welcome to Ariana Learning Center. This page explains how to create an account, learn English, prepare for citizenship tests, and fix common problems. You can read this page without an account.

Getting started

Ariana Learning Center helps Pashto and Dari speakers learn English and prepare for citizenship tests. You learn in small lessons, step by step. The lessons teach you English words and sentences, and the explanations are in Pashto or Dari, so you can understand everything while you learn English.

Creating your account

To learn with Ariana, you need an account. Creating an account is currently free, and the app never asks for payment or card details.

  1. Open the Sign Up page.
  2. Write your full name.
  3. Write your email address. Use an email you can open — we send a message to this email.
  4. Choose a password. Your password needs at least 12 characters, with at least one letter and one number.
  5. Write the password again.
  6. Choose your learning language: Pashto or Dari. This is the language of the explanations in your lessons.
  7. Read and accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
  8. If a small security check appears, complete it, then press Create Account.

Sometimes registration is open only with an invitation. If you received an invitation link, please use that link to create your account.

Verifying your email and logging in

After you sign up, we send an email to your address. Open the email and press the link inside it. This proves the email is yours. Then go to the Log In page, write your email and password, and press Log In.

You cannot log in before you verify your email. If you do not see the email, wait a few minutes and check your spam or junk folder.

Choosing your language

You can read the website pages — including this page, Sign Up, and Log In — in English, Pashto, or Dari. Use the language button at the top of the page to change it.

Inside the app, your learning language is Pashto or Dari. This is the language of the lesson explanations and translations. The lessons themselves always teach English.

You can change your learning language later in your Profile.

English levels and the course

Ariana has three English levels today:

  • A1 — Beginner: 10 units, 60 lessons.
  • A2 — Elementary: 10 units, 60 lessons.
  • B1 — Intermediate: 10 units, 60 lessons.

In total there are 30 units and 180 lessons, with more than 1,400 words to learn.

Levels B2 and C1 are planned for the future. They are not in the app yet.

If you are new to English, start at A1, Unit 1, Lesson 1. Lessons open in order: when you finish a lesson, the next one opens for you.

How a lesson works

Open Learn, choose your lesson, and start. A lesson is a set of short exercises. In a lesson you can:

  • Learn new words with pictures and sound.
  • Listen to English sentences and answer questions.
  • Choose the correct answer.
  • Write missing words.
  • Speak into the microphone and get your answer checked.
  • Practice short conversations.
  • Write English sentences.

Every English sentence has recorded sound. Press the speaker button to hear it. You can listen slowly, at normal speed, or fast.

If an answer is wrong, you can try the question again at the end of the lesson. When you finish the lesson, you see your result and the XP (points) you earned. You can open a finished lesson again any time and practice it again.

Listening and audio

All lesson audio is recorded in advance, so the sound always matches the words on the screen. Press the speaker button next to a word or sentence to listen. Use the speed buttons to listen slowly (0.75×), normally (1×), or fast (1.25×).

If you hear no sound: check your device volume, check your internet connection, and press the speaker button again.

Speaking and the microphone

Some exercises ask you to speak. First, listen to the example sentence. Then press the microphone button and say the sentence clearly.

The app listens to your voice and checks your words carefully. For short answers, the check is exact: please say the sentence the same way as the example. If the app does not hear you, it will ask you to speak again — an answer is never marked correct if the app could not hear it.

The microphone works best in Google Chrome. The first time, your browser will ask permission to use the microphone — press Allow. Speak in a quiet place, and hold the phone or microphone near you.

Where speech recognition is not available in your browser, speaking questions can be skipped or left for later, so they do not block your lesson.

Citizenship preparation

Ariana also helps you prepare for citizenship tests for the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

For the USA test, you study the 128 official civics questions from the USCIS 2025 test. You can learn each question in Pashto or Dari first, then practice in different ways: understand the question, listen, choose the answer, translate, fill the missing word, put words in order, and type the answer in a test. The app checks your answers and remembers your progress for each country.

Important: Ariana Learning Center is a study tool. It is not USCIS and it is not part of any government. We cannot promise that you will pass your test. Test questions and rules can change — always check the official USCIS website, uscis.gov, for the newest information about your test and interview.

Devices, installing the app, and the internet

You can use Ariana on a phone, a tablet, or a computer, in a modern web browser such as Chrome or Safari. You can also install Ariana like an app:

  • Android (Chrome): when the install message appears, press Install. Or open the browser menu and choose “Add to Home screen.”
  • iPhone or iPad (Safari): press the Share button, then choose “Add to Home Screen.”

You need an internet connection to learn: lessons, tests, and your progress come from the internet. If your connection stops, the app shows an offline message and waits for the connection to return. Sound you already listened to may still play again from your device, but you cannot continue lessons offline.

Your progress and your account

Your progress is saved in your account, not only on your phone. If you log in on another device with the same email, you see the same progress.

In the app you can see your XP points, your day streak, your skills, and a weekly report. Your Profile lets you change your profile picture, your learning language, and your password, and you can see the devices where you are logged in.

There is a limit to how many devices can be logged in at the same time. If you reach the limit when you log in, the Log In page will show your devices and let you remove an old device, then continue.

If you forget your password, use the Forgot Password link on the Log In page. We will email you a link to choose a new password.

Troubleshooting

I cannot log in.

Check your email and password for spelling mistakes. Did you verify your email after signing up? You must press the link in the email first. If you forgot your password, use Forgot Password.

The sound does not play.

Check the volume. Check the internet. Press the speaker button again. If one sound fails, continue the lesson and try again later.

The microphone does not work.

Use Chrome if you can. Press Allow when the browser asks for the microphone. Speak clearly in a quiet place. If it still does not work, skip the speaking question and continue.

My answer was right, but the app says wrong.

For speaking and writing, the app checks your answer exactly. Listen to the example again, say or write exactly the same words, and try again.

The page looks old or strange.

The app updates itself. If you see a message about a new version, accept it. You can also close the app and open it again.
